Description of dutiesThe First Class Machinist must be able to read and work from blue prints. Program, set up and operate all conventional and CNC lathes and mills.
Write and install programs using Master Cam and Geo path from blueprints and drawings.
Design fixtures, tooling and parts to meet machining requirements.
Confer with Engineering, Supervisory and Manufacturing Personnel in order to exchange technical information.
Measure and examine completed parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Work independently or as part of a team with no supervision and make sound decisions and solve technical problems.
Perform Routine maintenance and minor repairs on Machine Shop equipment.
Rigging and operation of lifting and material handling equipment. (Overhead Cranes, Gantries, Fork Lifts)
Train and assist junior Machinists.
Work in diversified and complex situations. Solutions require the use of independent judgment following company policies and procedures.
Intimately familiar with Machine Shop Safety and OSHA requirements.

Qualifications RequiredEducation: Formal training program of one to three years after high school (vocation or technical school); or an Associate's Degree related to the work performed.

Experience: Five years previous experience in CNC machine operation and three years in Programming.

High proficiency in blueprint reading and machining techniques.
Knowledgeable in various CNC programming systems.
In depth knowledge in the operation of conventional and CNC machine shop equipment.
